For over 31 years as a volunteer Firefighter and EMT, I’ve witnessed the hardships and lack of resources that impact people’s lives during crises.
After the initial crisis ended, I knew their ongoing needs would continue. Outside my role as an FF/EMT, I organized community efforts for change – rallying to rebuild a playground, collecting supplies for families, and donating to women’s shelters. While I saw the positive effects, I recognized as just one person, I could only do so much. The power to drive real change comes from uniting our voices, resources, and strengths, so the Ripple of Change Foundation was born. Its mission is empowering positive community impact through support and resources. We believe in the transformative power of small actions to create a ripple effect of positive change and hope.
As a firefighter, it is natural to unite with Dr. Burton A. Clark, EFO, to expand his reach and drive to change fire culture, to reevaluate risky traditions and prioritize firefighter safety so more firefighters make it home safely. I believe the power to create real change comes from combining our voices, strengths, and resources with strategic purpose. Through the Foundation, we are proud to support Dr. Clark in spreading his lifesaving messages. By evolving risky mindsets, we can create ripples of hope ensuring today’s firefighters become the wise veterans sharing lessons learned with future generations. When it comes to firefighter safety, the time is now to supply the support needed to make selfless sacrifice a thing of the past. I stand with Dr. Clark in igniting this cultural shift, so the calling to serve comes with the assurance of safe returns.
