About the National Fallen Officer Foundation

The National Fallen Officer Foundation (National FOF) is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit headquartered in Washington, DC, dedicated to public safety advocacy, officer‑safety awareness, and comprehensive support for families of law enforcement and military personnel who have been killed or critically injured in the line of duty. Since evolving from the Dallas Fallen Officer Foundation in 2008 to a nationwide organization in 2017, National FOF focuses on three pillars: educating leaders and communities on threats to officer safety, advocating for stronger public safety policy, and delivering direct resources—financial, emotional, and practical—to affected families without membership requirements or donation restrictions.

Key Services & Benefits

  • Support for Fallen Officer Families - Provides no-strings-attached financial assistance, counseling, practical resources, and outreach to survivors of fallen or critically injured officers nationwide.
  • Community Engagement & Bridge Building - Sponsors outreach programs—such as anti‑bullying talks, youth mentorship, hospital visits, and violence-prevention events—to foster trust between law enforcement and communities.
  • Officer Safety Awareness & Education - Conducts campaigns and briefings to raise awareness of threats faced by law enforcement and communities, helping to proactively reduce risk.
  • Public Policy Advocacy - Engages lawmakers and files briefs (including at the U.S. Supreme Court level) to shape legislation that protects officers and supports public safety initiatives.
  • Rapid Response Outreach - Responds quickly to line‑of‑duty critical incidents, coordinating support and community engagement to assist families during crises.
