CARE Chest of Sierra Nevada, also known as CARE Chest, is a vital 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports Nevadans in need. Over the past 35 years, CARE Chest has provided more than 650,000 unique consumer services to the community, including free medical equipment, supplies, prescription assistance, home modifications for independent living, and supplemental medical nutrition. Its broad impact and multi-service approach have made it a recognized and vital medical resource for Nevada’s underserved populations, endorsed by area hospitals, low-income clinics, and social service agencies throughout the state.
CARE Chest is dedicated to improving our services and capabilities to better serve our community. While our traditional Medical Resource programming has been offered at our Reno headquarters for over 35 years, our Mobile and Rural Outreach Programs have supported low-income Nevadans, mainly older women in rural areas, since 2019. Our outreach efforts now cover more than 2,500 miles each month, reaching over 47 locations statewide, with more being added in the coming year. As we expand into Nevada’s most critical communities, more Nevadans gain access to essential medical resources, paving the way for better health and independence.
Multiple sites in several counties and high-need zip codes make it easier for our consumers to access vital medical resources needed to live healthier, more independent lives.
