This stunning Superformance GT40 MKI is a faithful continuation of one of racing’s most iconic machines—the legendary No. 6 GT40 that Jacky Ickx and Jackie Oliver drove to a dramatic victory over the Porsche 908 at the 1969 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Paying homage to Ford’s dominance at Le Mans, including the historic 1-2-3 finish in 1966, this GT40 isn’t just inspired by the original—it’s nearly indistinguishable. Engineered with precision and built to exacting standards, over two-thirds of its parts are interchangeable with those of the original, including the race-bred monocoque chassis.
Thanks to its unparalleled accuracy, this continuation model proudly bears the GT40/P chassis number, is eligible for the official GT40 registry, and even legally carries the revered GT40 name. A true motorsport icon reborn—with the soul, spirit, and substance of the original.
It is a genuine GT40, built as the '60s cars were with some modern improvements. It is not a 'kit or replica' but a Superformance continuation build authorized by the holder of the GT40 trademark and design.
Engine & Powertrain
Powered by a Roush 427SR with Weber carburetion, paired with a Quaife ZFQ 5-speed and aluminum bellhousing. A Super Street Pro single-disc clutch handles the 510 horsepower output.
Gulf Oil - Pittsburgh Connection
Pittsburgh holds a special place in GT40 racing history as the former headquarters of Gulf Oil, a major force behind the GT40's legendary success. In the 1960s, Gulf Oil’s Executive Vice President, Grady Davis, sponsored the GT40 racing team in partnership with JW Automotive Engineering. This collaboration led to the iconic No. 6 GT40, bearing chassis 1075, achieving back-to-back victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1968 and 1969. The car's unmistakable Gulf Oil blue and orange livery has since become one of motorsport history's most recognizable and celebrated design
